Local business people and dignitaries came together yesterday to celebrate the official opening of the new Premier Inn Livingston (Bathgate), located on Starlaw Road in Bathgate, West Lothian.

As part of the celebrations, the hotelier has put prizes in the form of free hotel nights, breakfasts and dinners to Costa coffees inside Premier Inn’s balloons, which were set afloat at yesterday’s launch party. Premier Inn is advising locals to look out for these balloons, floating in an area near them!

Over 40 people from the local community and Scotland’s central belt attended the launch event, which began at 11:15 with a champagne reception. Guests from the business community had the opportunity to meet other companies, network and heard an interesting talk on how businesses could work better, together, to help beat the recession, from Duncan Walker, president of West Lothian’s Chamber of Commerce.

In the official opening ceremony, VisitScotland’s chief executive Philip Riddle together with Mike Clarke, general manager for Premier Inn Livingston (Bathgate) - cut the ribbon, marking the latest addition to the Premier Inn portfolio.

100 Premier Inn balloons were also released into the air! With 40 of them containing a prize from free hotel nights, dinners for two at the adjacent Toby Carvery restaurant, Premier Inn ‘All You Can Eat Breakfasts’ to free coffees. Those lucky enough to find a Premier Inn balloon simply need to call the Premier Inn Livingston (Bathgate) to claim their prize!

Mike Clarke, general manager for Premier Inn Livingston (Bathgate) said: “It was fantastic to have such a good turnout at the opening. We thought it was an excellent occasion to bring members of the business community together, as we’re really keen to see companies work collectively and help each other through these tougher economic times.

“Businesses were impressed at what we can offer here at our 74-bedroom hotel – with rooms that are good value for money, clean and comfortable. A competitively priced meeting room, Wi-Fi, a bright and attractive restaurant area – where we serve breakfast and coffees and of course, free car parking – is all on offer.

“We are positive the hotel will be a success in the area – especially given our convenient location, just off the M8 at Junction 3A and being only a 25 and 35 minute drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow respectively.”

The Premier Inn Livingston (Bathgate) offers a full, ‘All You Can Eat’ breakfast for only £7.50 or a continental, buffet style for only £5.25. For lunch or dinner, there’s a Toby Carvery restaurant, adjacent to the hotel.

For those looking for only coffee, there’s a selection of Costa coffees on offer –so ideal for business people looking to meet and discuss business over refreshments or for catching up with friends and family. There’s also Wi-Fi available for a small fee.

For meetings that require more privacy, there’s a dedicated, good quality meeting room at the Premier Inn Livingston (Bathgate) that costs £99 per day and can accommodate between 20 and 30 delegates.

The hotel has rooms adapted for customers with disabilities. Rooms are priced from £63 per night Monday to Thursday and from £55 per room, Friday to Sunday.
