A slowdown in the markets is not affecting Scotland's appetite for sandwiches.
One local firm is bucking the economic trend by tripling the size of its factory and doubling the workforce to meet growing demand.
Pronto Fresh, which makes sandwiches and snacks for businesses, including the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and City Halls in Merchant City, has seen its order book grow by almost 40%.
And this month one of its largest customers, supermarket chain Aldi, has doubled its order to a £1.1million contract.
The deal will see the East Kilbride firm's output stocked in Aldi's 39 Scottish stores and 61 outlets in northern England.
But, more importantly, it will lead to the expansion of the firm's factory and see employee numbers rise from 14 to 26 and give the four-year-old firm the chance to expand in the rest of the UK.
John McAndrew, of Business Gateway, has supported the firm since its launch.
He said: "We've been able to help Pronto Fresh with issues such as training, financing, dealing with industry regulations and helping it make contacts.
"We're delighted to see the company expand so quickly and its expansion can only be good news for the area, with more full-time jobs being created."
The business specialises in chilled food made with local and organic produce. It also uses biodegradable packaging for its products.
The expansion of its East Kilbride base will see it move into the hot-meal market.
A phased expansion will begin on February 4 when a new unit comes online with another unit coming into operation in mid-May.
Once in place it plans to tender for more contracts and move into the corporate market, including football clubs.
Pronto Fresh director Mehdi Goodarzy said: "Business Gateway has worked with us in partnership as our business has developed and grown and everything our adviser has promised us has been delivered.
"Without its tremendous help we would not be in such a strong position. It really has gone the extra mile to ensure our firm succeeds."
